Girl, 14, knocked off bike and kicked by youths who told her to remove headscarf
Police are trying to track down two teenagers who punched and kicked a 14-year-old girl because she was wearing a headscarf.
The victim was attacked while she was cycling home from school in Emmeloord, Flevoland, on Wednesday afternoon, De Stentor reported. The two youths shouted at her to remove her scarf, then pushed her to the ground and assaulted her after she told them to be quiet.
The attackers, said to be around 18 years old, kicked her in the head and back before running away. Police said she was bruised and concussed but did not have any lasting injuries.
The pair are described as blond and wore short black jackets. Anyone who witnessed the incident on Moerasandijviestraat at about 3.45pm should call police.
