Dutch nationality stripped from four jihadis, minister acts for first time
Caretaker justice minister Stef Blok has withdrawn Dutch nationality from four men who have been convicted of terrorist offences in Syria.
It is the first time the minister has made use of the legislation allowing Dutch nationality to be withdrawn from people convicted of, or suspected of involvement in, terrorist activities or otherwise being a danger to national security.
The four – Anis Z, Driss D, Hatim R and Noureddin B were all sentenced to jail terms in absentia and three are thought to still be in Syria. Driss D, who was given a six year jail term last year, is thought to have died several years ago.
