10-0 win over Czech Republic seals Dutch hockey women dominance
An emphatic 10-0 win over the Czech Republic put the Dutch women’s hockey team firmly in control of Group A at the European hockey championships in Amsterdam on Tuesday night.
The Dutch women, a new look team following the retirement of three long-serving internationals, go forward to the semi-finals as clear winners in Group A. They will play England, who beat them in the final of the Olympics last year, in one semifinal. Belgium, runner up in Group A, will face Germany in the other.
In the men’s event, Oranje are in action against Austria on Wednesday evening, hoping to seal their progression into the semi-finals. Belgium is currently in the lead in Group A. In Group B there is everything left to play for with one match to go. Ireland, Germany and England can all make the final four.
The semi-finals take place on Thursday and Friday, with the finals set for the weekend. There are still some tickets for Wednesday and Thursday available.
