Paris and Brussels jihadists ‘wanted to hide weapons at Schiphol’
Men involved with the terror attacks in Paris and Brussels wanted to hide weapons at Schiphol airport, reports ANP.
Osama K, a 28-year-old implicated in the attacks, told a hearing in Belgium on Friday that on the day of the Paris attacks, he want to Schiphol with another jihadist, Sofiane A.
Their visit on November 13, 2015, was to see whether weapons and explosives could be hidden there in luggage lockers, he said. But he said that the plan did not work out.
The Swedish-born man, referred to as K, was arrested in April in Belgium as a suspected jihadist who had gone to Syria. French media reported that he told Belgian investigators about the Schiphol link last year.
But there are, reports ANP, still questions remaining about references to the Schiphol Group in computer files owned by jihadists.
More than 162 people were killed and hundreds were wounded in the attacks in Paris and 2016 bombings in Brussels.
