Milot Rashica has been one of the positives in an underwhelming season for Vitesse, and the in­demand Albanian youngster fired the hosts in front with a smart finish.

Eredivisie top scorer Vincent Janssen took his tally to 25 goals for the season as a rampant AZ destroyed PEC.

Janssen claimed the first of four goals from the penalty spot after Dabney Dos Santos was felled in the box on 20 minutes.

And he doubled his tally five minutes later when PEC keeper Mickey van der Hart weakly parried a Stijn Wuytens effort into the path of the young striker.

Kingsley Ehizibue halved the deficit when heading home on 63 minutes, but after collecting a Janssen back heel, Dos Santos fired home an angled drive to restore the hosts advantage.

Van de Hart’s night turned from bad to worse after receiving a red card for bringing down Alireza Jahanbakhsh on 68 minutes.

With PEC having made three substitutions, striker Lars Veldwijk replaced the keeper but failed to stop Janssen’s penalty.

The striker bagged his fourth and AZ’s fifth late on, beating Veldwijk at his near post.

Feyenoord 1 v 1 Groningen: Groningen hold Feyenoord at De Kuip

Tonny Vilhena equalised a Michael de Leeuw opener as Groningen put a halt to a six game Feyenoord winning streak.

With a third place finish virtually sealed Feyenoord were off the pace and it was Groningen who threatened on the counter.

And the away side were rewarded when De Leeuw slid home a Oussama Idrissi cross on 24 minutes.

Feyenoord went in search of an equaliser but rarely threatened keeper Sergio Padt, until Vilhena nodded home a Jens Toornstra cross after 65 minutes.

Michiel Kramer and Dirk Kuijt came closest to finding a winner for the hosts, however Groningen held firm to claim a deserved point.

Roda JC 0 v 3 PSV: Champions cruise past Roda

PSV claimed a comfortable win in Kerkrade to turn the heat up on league leaders Ajax.

Captain Luuk de Jong eased PSV into a 10th minute lead, heading home a pinpoint Jetro Willems cross.

And the club top scorer doubled his tally with an almost identical header on the hour mark.

The excellent Davy Propper sealed victory for PSV on 81 minutes with an fine strike from outside the penalty box.

Ajax 2 v 2 Utrecht: Ajax stay top thanks to a gift of a penalty

A late and controversial penalty decision rescued a point for the league leaders.

With seconds on the clock and the grip on championship slipping away, Utrecht defender Willem Janssen was wrongly adjudged to have fouled Arkadiusz Milik in the penalty box.

And the Ajax striker fired home the spot kick to deny Utrecht three points and prevent PSV taking top spot.

Utrecht had deservedly taken a two goal lead through second half goals from Nacer Barazite and Patrick Joosten.

However, Davy Klaassen hit back for Ajax within a minute of Joosten’s powerful 84th minute strike.

Utrecht, and no doubt PSV, were then left dumbfounded as referee Danny Makkelie inexplicably pointed to the spot after Janssen’s clean 89th minute tackle.

With three games to play the draw leaves Ajax leading PSV at the top of the Eredivisie by just 6 goals.

NEC Nijmegen 2 v 1 Cambuur Leeuwarden: Cambuur on the brink after defeat in Nijmegen

Cambuur fell a further point behind relegation rivals De Graafschap as NEC ran out comfortable winners in Nijmegen.

NEC remain firmly in the hunt for a Europa League play off spot, and they broke the deadlock on 54 minutes when Navarone Foor saw a close range effort deflected in off striker Christian Santos.

The hosts doubled the lead 15 minutes later as substitute Mihai Roman bagged his first goal for the club after a smart turn and finish.

Cambuur replied through Jerge Hoefdraad after some slack defending by the home side, but NEC saw the game out to move into seventh place in the table.

Willem II 0 v 2 ADO Den Haag: Sorry run continues for Willem II

ADO punished Willem II in Tilburg leaving the home side facing the real prospect of a playoff to decide its Eredivisie status.

Japanese international Mike Havenaar gave the visitors a deserved advantage with a trademark header before Erik Falkenburg passed up three great chances to bring the struggling home side level.

And Willem II paid the price as Frank van der Struijk headed a harmless looking free kick into his own net to seal the visitors victory.

Excelsior 1 v 1 Heerenveen: Draw sees Excelsior climb out of bottom three

A fine strike from Sam Larsson cancelled out a Brandley Kuwas effort but Excelsior can be happy with a point that lifts the club out of the relegation zone.

Kuwas opened the scoring with a classy left foot strike on 37 minutes.

Heerenveen levelled matters four minutes later when Larsson burst past two Excelsior defenders before hitting an unstoppable drive into the roof of the net.

Excelsior pushed for a winner but failed to find a way past Heerenveen keeper Erwin Mulder.

However, Excelsior climb above Willem II with what could prove to be a vital point.
