Transgender Loiza wins Holland’s Next Top Model
A 20-year-old transgender has won this year’s Holland’s Next Top Model competition, in what is thought to be the first time a transgender has taken a ‘top model’ title.
Trainee hairdresser Loiza Lambers, who is 20, won a contract valued at €50,000 with Touché Models in the show’s final.
Lamers told the Gelderlander at the weekend she had been born a boy named Lucas but kept it secret from the programme makers until she had made it through to the television shows.
She told the paper she decided to go public with her past because rumours were circulating on internet.
American gossip website Perez Hilton described Lambers’ win as an ‘historic moment’
