Walibi amusement park goes ‘too far’ with Halloween S&M

Walibi S&MThe Walibi amusement park in Flevoland is planning to include S&M acts in its Halloween ‘fright night’ programming in October, local broadcaster Omroep Flevoland reports.

The introduction of SM acts, which the broadcaster says will ‘go further than 50 Shades of Grey’, has upset the local ChristenUnie political party.

Walabi has seriously overstepped the mark with this sort of extreme behaviour, local party leader Jaap Oosterveld, said. An amusement park is not an appropriate place for a combination of sex and violence, he said.

Spokeswoman Lindy Voskuil denied the park has gone too far. ‘The actors will stay within certain zones which will be clearly shown on the map and they are not allowed to touch the visitors,’ she said.

The park has no age limit but the recommended age is 16, Voskuil said. ‘But we will not turn away people who are too young.’
