Imtech’s German arm declared bankrupt

-The German arm of Dutch engineering company Imtech has been declared bankrupt, threatening 3,500 jobs, news agency ANP said on Thursday evening.

The Imtech group is now ‘evaluating the current situation and its consequences and is considering all options’, the company said in a statement.

‘Imtech will update the market as soon as possible, more specifically on the consequences of these developments,’ the short statement said.

The company has been struggling to cope with a lack of liquidity and is in talks with its financiers.

Imtech’s German clients include BMW, BASF, Bosch, Daimler and Volkswagen, news agency ANP says.
