Unemployment rate shrinks: over 100,000 more people now have a job
The number of people in the Netherlands with a paid job has gone up by 109,000 over the past year, the national statistics office CBS said on Thursday.
The increase is largely due to a 85,000 rise in the number of women in work, the CBS said.
This means the Dutch unemployment rate has fallen from 7.4% to 6.9% over the past 12 months, despite remaining stable in June.
Some 611,000 people are without a job and registered as looking for work, of whom 410,000 are currently claiming unemployment benefits.
