Dutch chamber of commerce in financial trouble
The Dutch chamber of commerce organisation posted a loss of €63m last year and has asked the government to bail it out, RTLZ reports.
The organisation has just been through a massive reorganisation as part of a government cost-cutting plan. The budget was slashed by €80m and 14 regional chambers were merged into a single organisation. Around 1,000 jobs are set to go by 2018.
The organisation’s books show revenues amounted to €218m last year, of which €135m came from the government and the rest from selling information and service fees.
