Zuidhorn has lowest crime rate in the Netherlands
The district of Zuidhorn in Groningen province has been named as the safest place to live in the 2015 edition of the AD’s crime monitor.
Zuidhorn is made up of several small villages and was in eighth place on the safest area list last year. Since then, efforts have been made to reduce break-ins and thefts from cars, propelling the district to the top.
Korendijk in Zuid-Holland and Kapelle in Zeeland were in second and third place.
On Tuesday the AD said Amsterdam is once again the least safe place in the country.
