The Dutch rate their quality of life a 7.8 out of 10
The Dutch rate their quality of life as 7.8 out of 10, making them one of the most satisfied nationalities in the EU, the national statistics office CBS said on Friday.
The happiest folk are the Finns, Danes and Swedes, who rate their quality of life an eight. The Austrians join the Dutch in second place, followed by the Belgians with 7.6%.
Bottom of the ranking are Bulgarians, who rate their quality of life a 4.8. Bulgaria’s score is a long way below the 6.2 points awarded to second from bottom Portugal, Hungary, Greece and Cyprus.
The Netherlands scores well in most areas but performs badly in terms of public safety, the CBS reported.
A relatively large number of people in the Netherlands say crime, vandalism and violence are a problem.
