Telegraaf editor-in-chief stands down
The editor of the Telegraaf newspaper, Sjuul Paradijs, has resigned with immediate effect. Paradijs had the top job at the biggest circulation Dutch paper since 2009 and worked for the Telegraaf Media Group since 1986.
The resignation comes at a time of unrest within TMG. The editorial staff and management are at odds about plans to separate the sport, financial, women’s section and Privé (gossip) editorial teams into separate units with their own editor and publisher.
TMG management hope this will boost profits but journalists say the plan threatens editorial independence and jobs.
