Rotterdam’s new station voted best building of 2015
Rotterdam’s new central station has been voted best building of 2015 by the Dutch architects’ association BNA.
The building was described by the jury as a ‘grand entrance’ to the city and a ‘fantastic building in all aspects’. The new station has brought together trains and metro within a public space and contributes to ‘liveability and social cohesion’, the jury said.
The BNA public prize went to High Tech System Park in Hengelo, a former factory and surrounding land which has been converted into an office campus.
