Battle for Eredivisie third place is a three-way fight
Rotterdam’s Feyenoord, Vitesse of Arnhem and AZ of Alkmaar will battle it out for third place in the Eredivisie in next weekend’s final fixtures of the season.
Third place in the league means automatic qualification for next season’s Europa League.
Feyenoord and AZ are currently level pegging in third place with Vitesse two points behind. Vitesse beat Feyenoord 4-1 in their postponed match on Monday night to close the gap.
In next weekend’s games, Feyenoord take on PEC Zwolle, AZ play Excelsior and Vitesse are home to FC Utrecht. A draw would give Feyenoord the placement on goal difference.
Eredivise winner PSV Eindhoven qualifies automatically for the Champions League while number two Ajax will take part in qualification rounds.
