The Netherlands will enjoy two days of sunshine and summer temperatures on Monday and Tuesday next week, weather forecasters say.

This weeked is poised to be no warmer than 17 Celsius, with some showers and strong winds on Saturday. However, early next week the temperature will rise to 26 Celsius in the south on Tuesday, the KNMI weather bureau says.

By Wednesday, however, cooler temperatures will return and showers are increasingly likely towards the end of the week. The KNMI says the unsettled weather is likely to continue well into May, with temperatures below average for the time of year.
