Unions reach agreement with Brink’s on redundancy terms
Trade union federation FNV has reached agreement with money transport company Brink’s on redundancy terms.
Brink’s workers have been on strike several times over the past few weeks because the company plans to sack 650 out of 1,000 staff after losing the contract to fill Rabobank and ABN Amro cashpoint machines.
The original social plan for those being made redundant has now been improved, the FNV and CNV unions told NRC. ‘The negotiations were difficult and complex,’ according to the FNV. ‘But now pensions have been guaranteed and there are better provisions for those who end up on unemployment benefit.’
It had been suggested that redundant Brink’s workers could be employed by the money transporters who are taking over the Rabobank and ABN Amro contracts. However, these companies did not respond to the suggestion.
