Dutch inflation rate reaches lowest level in five years
The rate of inflation in the Netherlands fell to 0.7% in December, its lowest level in five years, the national statistics office CBS said on Thursday.
The inflation rate has been falling steadily since summer 2013.
The 0.3 percentage point drop between November and December is largely due to lower fuel prices. A litre of petrol now costs an average of €1.55, its lowest level since November 2010, the CBS said.
Calculated according to eurozone statistical methods, there is 0.1% deflation in the Netherlands, the CBS said.
