Snow in southern parts on Saturday, train services slashed
Weather forecasters are predicting up to 10 cm of snow in central and southern parts of the Netherlands on Saturday.
On Friday night there will be slippery conditions on some roads, followed by some dry snow. On Saturday there will be more snow in southern and central areas, the KNMI weather bureau said.
Most of the snow will fall in Limburg and Noord Brabant while parts of Zuid-Holland, Utrecht and Gelderland will also be affected.
The temperature will remain just above zero for most of the day, the KNMI said.
Dutch railway company NS is slashing train services on busy routes because of the expected snow. By reducing the frequency of trains from every 15 minutes to every half hour, NS says it will be easier to solve any eventual breakdowns or stoppages.
Sunday will be dry, sunny and cold, with temperatures remaining below zero in most places.
