Baby’s body found in Alkmaar park
The body of a baby has been found in a park in Alkmaar in Noord-Holland, Dutch media say on Thursday. The baby appears to be newborn and was found in the De Rekerhout, the city’s biggest park, which includes a farm and wild areas.
Police were alerted to the find by passersby and 20 detectives are investigating the case. The baby will undergo a post mortem examination later on Thursday.
Several weeks ago a newborn baby was found dumped in an underground rubbish container in Amsterdam after a woman out walking her dog heard cries. That baby survived and is now being looked after by foster parents but her parents have not yet been traced.
