Hilversum families allowed home after booby trap bomb dismantled
Some 50 people evacuated from their homes following the discovery of a ‘small quantity of explosives’ in a nearby house have been allowed back, police said on Sunday morning.
The explosives were found when police went to the house on Saturday morning to make an arrest in connection with a drugs investigation. The suspect was not home at the time, but police found a suspect package and brought in the bomb squad.
Two other people in the property at the time were arrested.
According to RTL news, the explosives had been used to create a booby trap bomb about the size of a can of soup.
