Nine out of 10 Dutch people have savings
Nearly nine out of 10 Dutch people have savings yet one-third were sent formal reminders about paying a bill over the past year and four out of 10 were overdrawn at some point, according to new research.
Nevertheless, the annual Wijzer in Geldzaken survey shows a slight improvement in the number of people who were overdrawn or were sent reminders about bills, compared with the previous year.
People in regular jobs are more likely to be overdrawn or to forget to pay bills than those who do not work, the survey shows.
