The Netherlands beat Brazil to claim World Cup third place
The Netherlands beat home side Brazil 0-3 on Saturday night in the play-off for third and fourth place in the football World Cup.
The goals were scored by Robin van Persie and Danny Blind in the third and 16th minutes of the first half and Georginio Wijnaldum one minute into injury time.
‘This is a good ending,’ said Arjen Robben after the game. ‘It washes the hangover away somewhat although the disappointment [of not making the final] still dominates.’
