Football transfer season heats up – Feyenoord sells four players
With over a month to go before the end of the summer football transfer season, the Dutch premier league has already lost a large number of experienced players, the Telegraaf says on Tuesday.
Feyenoord, for example, has earned over €30m from selling Stefan de Vrij, Graziano Pelle, Daryl Janmaat and Bruno Martins Indi. Janmat, De Vrij and Martins Indi were all part of the successful Dutch squad at this summer’s World Cup.
Amsterdam’s Ajax is losing captain Siem de Jong, while PSV Eindhoven has said farewell to Tim Matavz, Karim Rekik, Bryan Ruiz and Ji-Sung Park, who has quit playing.
Among the other transfers, FC Twente has lost Dusan Tadic and Roberto Rosales and Vitesse will start the new season without Patrick van Aanholt and Christian Atsu, the Telegraaf says.
The newcomers to the Eredivisie include Luuk de Jong who is joining PSV and Khalid Boulahrouz who goes to Feyenoord.
