19-year-old woman arrested for recruiting for jihad
A 19-year-old Dutch woman has been arrested on suspicion of recruiting jihadists to fight with Muslim rebels in Syria, the public prosecution department has confirmed.
The woman has been remanded in custody for two weeks as the investigation into her continues. She was picked up in Zoetermeer, near The Hague, after several people made complaints, the department statement said.
Earlier this year, the Dutch security service AIVD said around 100 Dutch young men may have travelled to fight abroad. Several are thought to have died.
