Wednesday is going to be hot, hot, hot
Weather bureaus are warning of extreme temperatures on Wednesday, as hot air blows into the Netherlands from Spain and North Africa.
According to weerplaza.nl, the temperature could reach up to 35 Celsius in eastern parts, but it may be as hot as 38 Celsius in places. The temperature already topped 30 Celsius in Maastricht on Monday afternoon, weerplaza says.
The heat will hit the rest of the Netherlands on Tuesday, when it will be largely sunny. But on Wednesday it will be more humid, with a risk of heavy downpours and thunderstorms in the evening and overnight.
The hot weather is only temporary however. Thursday it will be cooler again with showers before returning to around 20 Celsius on Friday.
