Paracetamol sales restricted after rise in overdoses
New restrictions on the sale of paracetamol come into effect on January 10, following a rise in the number of poisoning cases.
From that date, chemists and supermarkets will no longer be able to sell paracetamol in boxes of more than 50. Only pharmacies will be able to sell the larger boxes, Nos television said.
The sale of other painkillers, including ibuprofen, is also being restricted.
An overdose of paracetamol can lead to acute liver problems.
