Five Dutch universities in top 100 World Reputation Rankings
Five Dutch universities feature in the latest Times Higher Education ranking of institutions with the best international reputations, with Delft University of Technology highest placed at 51.
Amsterdam, Utrecht, Leiden and Wageningen also feature in the list, which is dominated by the US and Britain. Delft was also the highest-ranked Dutch institution in 2011, but has slipped two places since then.
‘This is a very strong performance by the Netherlands,’ editor-in-chief Phil Baty told news agency ANP. ‘However, none are in the top 50 and there is no institute which jumps out as a possible challenger to the big universities of Britain and the US.’
The list is based on what the organisation says is ‘the largest international survey of academic opinion ever undertaken’, involving student and professor opinions.
