Public parks, reserves to be sold to raise €100m: Telegraaf

Staatsbosbeheer, the organisation which manages government-owned nature reserves and open spaces, is to sell off 15,000 hectares of land in order to save €100m, the Telegraaf reports on Friday.

The move has been forced by government policy, the organisation says.
Protected parks are safe from the sell-off, meaning large open spaces like the Malieveld by The Hague central station, the Haagse Bos (woods) and the Spaarnwoude woods near Haarlem are more likely to be sold.
A spokesman for the organisation told the paper it is not yet clear which land will be sold off or how the sale will take place.
The 10 hectare Malieveld is where most mass demonstrations in The Hague take place.
