DNA database has 100,000 names

The DNA database operated by the Dutch forensic institute NFI has over 100,000 names, the organisation said on Tuesday.

And the size of the database is likely to increase by up to 50,000 names a year from now on because of changes in legislation, the NFI said.
Since May, everyone who is found guilty of a crime which has a potential jail sentence attached to it must give a DNA sample.
Some 5% of the samples held relate to unsolved crimes, the Telegraaf reports.
