Prospective PVV MP Gidi Markuszower withdrew from the election campaign after home affairs minister Ernst Hirsch Ballin sent party leader Geert Wilders a security service report into his background, the NRC reports, citing sources in The Hague.

In the letter, Markuszower was described as ‘a risk for the integrity of the Netherlands’ and is said to have supplied information to a ‘foreign power’ and had contact with a foreign security service.
Sources say the letter was referring to Israel and Mossad.
Markuzower was number five on the PVV’s list of parliamentary hopefuls but hit the headlines after it emerged he had been arrested for carrying a gun while member of a Jewish security group.
Markuszower, who said at the time he was withdrawing because of the media spotlight, has also admitted the security service letter is the reason for his departure but says there is no evidence for the claims made against him, the NRC states.
