NSB leader execution was filmed, says film maker

The execution of Dutch Nazi party leader Anton Mussert in 1946 was recorded on film, a tv programme maker claimed on Tuesday.

The execution was recorded so that there would be no doubt Mussert was dead, Han Peekel said on breakfast show Goedemorgen Nederland.
Peekel said he had not seen the footage but that it had been given to the justice ministry for safe-keeping. An appointment to view the film was cancelled at the last minute, he said.
Mussert, who founded the Nationaal-Socialistische Beweging in 1931, was shot on May 7 1946. At its height in 1943 the NSB had over 100,000 members in the Netherlands.
