Four awards for Komt een vrouw bij de dokter
The film Komt een vrouw bij de dokter (a woman goes to the doctor), the semi-autobiographical account of a man who has an affair when his wife develops terminal cancer, picked up four prizes at the Rembrandt film awards on Monday night.
The film, based on the million-selling book by Raymond van de Klundert, was voted best Dutch film, while Carice van Houten and Barry Atsma picked up the best acting awards. The band Kane won the Rembrandt for best film music with the theme song Love over Healing.
The winners are chosen by public vote from a short list selected by a professional jury.
Avatar was voted best foreign film.
Dutch costume designer Jany Temime, who has worked on the Harry Potter films as well as Dutch classics such as Karakter, was given an honorary Rembrandt for her contribution to film.
