Marco Borsato’s company bankrupt

Marco Borsato’s company The Entertainment Group was declared bankrupt by a court in Amsterdam on Tuesday, a move the popular singer described as a ‘sledgehammer blow’.

The company had been under court protection from creditors since last week because it could no longer make payments.
The Entertainment Group organises major concerts and represents artists such as country singer Ilse DeLange plus popular artists Edsilia Rombley and Guus Meeuwis.
The Entertainment Group is also responsible for the annual show spectaculars Symphonica in Rosso. This year Diana Ross is due to headline three of the red-themed shows in Arnhem. Borsato said on Wednesday two of the three scheduled concerts will go ahead.
In addition, Borsato and other artists will perform two shows in the Gelredome to raise money to pay costs related to the Symphonica shows.
Chart topper Borsato, who founded the company 15 years ago, says he is ‘numbed by the pain and sorrow’ of the bankruptcy.
