Bribery claim around royal holiday home

The Socialist Party is calling on the government to give its reaction to claims that a project developer in Mozambique has offered local officials bribes to build a holiday home for prince Willem-Alexander and princess Máxima, reports ANP news service.

Socialist MP Ewout Irrgang says he wants to know whether the article in the magazine HP/De Tijd are true.
The story claims that four civil servants in Mozambique are to get a house in return for services connected to the construction of the royal couple’s holiday home.
The government press office RVD, which is responsible for the royal family’s press statements, was not available to give a comment on Wednesday evening says ANP.
In the past Labour minister Ella Vogelaar has expressed her ‘double feelings’ about the house being built on the coast of Mozambique, saying that she hopes that the project will also benefit the local population.
