Postal strike hits Amsterdam
TNT postal workers in Amsterdam go on strike today in the latest of a series of industrial actions in support of their demand for a 3.5% increase in wages, reports ANP news service.
Post will not be delivered in the capital and there will be no collections from the city’s post boxes.
On Wednesday TNT workers went on strike in The Hague and next Tuesday it will be the turn of Rotterdam. A nationwide strike is planned for May 27.
TNT has offered a rise of 1.5% from April this year and another 1.5% from January 2009.
