Former US ambassador Arnall dies

The former US ambassador to the Netherlands Roland Arnall has died unexpectedly in the US just days after returning home.

Arnall, 68, quit his post on March 7 to go back to the US and support his son, who is battling with Hodgkin’s disease.
‘He died suddenly,’ an embassy spokeswoman said, without giving further details.
Arnall was appointed in 2006 by president Bush. He was a controversial choice because of his links with sub-prime lender Ameriquest.
