Anouk, Broederliefde big winners at Edison music awaards

Dutch rock diva Anouk, Eurovision entrant Douwe Bob, Kensington and Rotterdam rap group Broederliefde were among the big winners at the 2017 Edison music awards on Monday night.

The Edisons are the oldest Dutch music awards and have been presented since 1960.

Anouk, who did not attend the ceremony, was given an award for her entire oeuvre. She first hit the charts in 1997 with Nobody’s Wife and has had a string of hits since then.

Douwe Bob took the pop prize for his last album Fool Bar while Kensington won the best rock category for Control.

The best album award went to rappers Broederliefde for Hard Work Pays Off 2, which was also the most listened to Dutch music album of the year. Typhoon won the award for best video.
