Warmer weather ahead, but we could be in for a thunderstorm
While the weekend will be warm with plenty of sunshine, there could be localized showers on Sunday and on Monday, even the odd thunderstorm, weather bureau KNMI says.
Friday and Saturday will be dry with temperatures around 20 Celsius, but on Sunday the temperature could go up to 26 Celsius inland, bring the chance of rain. And from Monday onwards, there is a ‘reasonable chance’ of a code yellow weather warning because of the risk of thunderstorms, the KNMI said.
Temperatures will continue to rise throughout the week, reaching up to 28 Celsius by Wednesday in the south, when rain is also likely.
In the longer term, the KNMI says there is 70% to 80% chance of more warm weather with showers as we head towards June, with rain becoming more likely at the end of the month.
Weather bureau Weeronline paints a similar picture and also sees more chance of rain in the last week of May.
