Two military personnel ‘seriously injured’ in forklift truck accident
Two air force pilots are recovering in hospital after being injured in an accident with a forklift truck on a military airbase.
The incident happened at around 9pm on Monday during a squadron party at Leeuwarden airbase, a spokesman for the Dutch military police told the Leeuwarder Courant.
No further details were given of how the accident happened or the pilots’ injuries, but the spokesman said they were ‘not in life-threatening danger’. Military police and defence department safety inspectors have begun an investigation.
