Local authority taxes to rise by an average of 2.1% next year
Local authority taxes will rise by an average of 2.1% next year, after increasing 5% in 2020 and 2021, according to research by home owners association Vereniging Eigen Huis.
Home owners will pay an average of €821 in property taxes and waste disposal charges in 2022, the VEH said. The survey is based on the new fees levied by106 local authority areas.
However, in six areas, including Hillegom and Lisse, property taxes will be up by more than 10%. Papendrecht leads the list with a 28% increase.
In 30 council areas property tax, or OZB, will go down, with Schouwen-Duivenland in Zeeland cutting its levy by 8%.
Waste disposal fees are rising by an average of 3.1%, the VEH said. Papendrecht again tops the list, with an increase in fees for multiple person households of 28%.
