A small minority of the Dutch population would support the introduction of a so-called 2G system, in which only people who have been fully vaccinated or recently recovered from coronavirus would be able to get a coronavirus pass, broadcaster NOS reported on Tuesday.

The research, carried out by I&O and covering a representative sample of 2,207 people, showed that while 55% support the move, 31% are totally opposed. MPs are debating the potential introduction of the 2G system on Tuesday afternoon.

The respondents were also asked if they agreed with the statement that companies be allowed to stop people who had not been vaccinated from going to the office. Fewer than half – 47% – backed that statement.

Youngsters, people who support minor Christian parties and the far right Forum voor Democratie are least likely to support 2G, but 60% of PVV voters said they would support the move, NOS reported.
