Dutch inflation rate rises to 5.6%, well above eurozone average
The Dutch rate of inflation has risen again to 5.6%, according to new figures published on Tuesday by EU statistics agency Eurostat.
In October, inflation in the Netherlands reached 3.7% when calculated according to EU methods, but was 3.4% according to domestic statistics agency CBS.
The rise in consumer prices in October and November has been triggered by soaring oil and gas prices, as well as more expensive clothing.
The Dutch figure is well above the eurozone average of 4.9% but below that of neighbouring countries Germany (7.1%) and Belgium (6%).
