Coronavirus cases top 20,000 for second day running, 20% of tests positive
Another 20,829 coronavirus cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours as the Netherlands set a new record for the third day in a row.
Wednesday’s figure was 607 higher than the number for Tuesday, while the seven-day average figure has gone up by 48% in the last week to 16,927.
More than one-fifth of all tests were positive, according to the figures from the public health agency RIVM.

The RIVM also confirmed 44 deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, while the average number of deaths reported per day has gone up from 23 to 27 in the last week.
