Lasse Schöne back at Ajax, Dane can train with the Amsterdammers to keep fit
Lasse Schöne, the Danish midfielder who spent nearly all of his career in the Netherlands is back in Amsterdam and training with the Ajax squad ‘to keep fit’.
Schöne left Ajax in 2019 for Genoa, but has not had a happy time at the Italian club and last week asked for his contract to be dissolved.
Schöne, 34, played for Ajax between 2012 and 2019, winning the national title three times and reaching the semi-final of the Champions League.

Commentators say the likelihood of him rejoining the Amsterdam team is minimal, despite the chorus of ‘give him a contract’ comments on Twitter. Schöne himself told football magazine VI that Ajax have allowed him to train with the players to keep his condition up to scratch.
‘And given the European Championships are this summer, it is important to have a couple of good, fit months. I do not know where that will be,’ the Danish international said.
Schöne told DutchNews.nl in a 10 Questions interview just days before he made the move to Genoa that the Netherlands would always be his home.
