A 17-year-old Dutch girl who had been tested positive for coronavirus was arrested in Switzerland on Tuesday for presenting a fake test result to the Zurich airport border control authorities prior to boarding a flight to Amsterdam, Dutch media report.

The girl had reportedly been skiing in the canton of Valais which is still welcoming tourists. On testing positive, she wanted to avoid having to go into quarantine as she had been told to do by the local authorities.

When it was discovered she had left police were warned and she was picked up at the airport and brought back to Valais in an ambulance. It is not known if she was travelling alone.

She is currently in custody and may be accused of breaking the coronavirus rules and falsifying a document.
