Ajax moves into the big time; scores 23rd in richest club ranking
Last year’s success at home and in Europe has propelled Ajax to 23rd position in a new Deloitte ranking of the world’s highest-earning football clubs.
Ajax, a new entrant to the top 30, is the highest non ‘big five’ participant and its strong showing is due to the clubs ‘great’ 2018/19 Champions League run, Deloitte said.

The Spanish side became the first club to break the €800m barrier last season, Deloitte said. Overall, the 20 highest earning football clubs in the world generated a record €9.3bn in earnings, up €1bn on 2018.
The Amsterdam club had 2019 earnings of just under €200m, according to the report, and is sandwiched in the rankings between Leicester City and Benfica.
