Man jailed for 10 years for grenade attacks on two coffee shops in Delft
A 42-year-old man has been jailed for 10 years for throwing hand grenades at two cannabis cafes in the centre of Delft last year.
The city was hit by a string of violent incidents between May and September, involving both grenades and shootings. Coffee shops were the target in most of the attacks but others involved a tanning studio and a clothes shop.
Michael B, who was jailed on Friday, was found guilty of attacking two coffee shops, both of which were thought to have the same owner, in mid May. B had earlier served a 16-year sentence for his role in a triple murder in Scheveningen.
Dean P, the driver of the moped which B used to escape was sentenced to 21 months in jail for weapons possession and attempting to intimate a witness. The two men deny any involvement and are considering an appeal.
