Hakim Ziyech signs to Ajax for a reported €11m
Midfielder Hakim Ziyech is, as expected, making the switch from FC Twente to Ajax. The 23-year-old has signed a five year contract with the Amsterdammers.
According to the Telegraaf, Ajax has paid €11m for Ziyech, making him one of the most expensive Eredivisie players ever. The record dates back to 2008 when Ajax paid nearly €16.3m for Miralem Sulejmani.
Despite interest from a number of foreign clubs Ziyech, who turns out for Morocco as an international, said on Ajax’s official website he wants to remain in the Netherlands and pursue his goal of winning the Eredivisie title with the Amsterdam club.
Ajax has been fairly active on the transfer market this season, bringing in Colombian players Mateo Casierra and Davinson Sánchez as well as defender Heiko Westermann, striker Bertrand Traoré and keeper Tim Krul.
