Dutch racing pigeon sold for record €250,400
A Dutch pigeon fancier sold one of his birds for the record sum of €250,400 during an internet auction on Monday, Belgian website Pigeon Paradise reports.
The buyer is a Chinese shipping magnate, says the site, which ran the auction.
Frisian pigeon racer Pieter Veenstra sold 245 pigeons over the past two weeks for a total sum of €1.9m, which is also a record, says Pigeon Paradise.
